The end of the year always feels sentimental to me. It’s like closing a chapter, and this December was no different. This year, I experienced so much growth, and I couldn’t be more thankful for it.

Everything felt fresh again, washing over me like a wave. For the first time in my life, I felt free to be who I wanted to be. It just felt NEW!!

December brought many happy moments! I enjoyed some quality alone time with my thoughts, which I genuinely love. The mind can be a scary place if you aren’t comfortable there, but it’s in the silence where growth happens. I often find peace within it.

I spent days with Bron! She finished her first pottery collection, and it was incredible. I’m so proud of her and what she’s stepping into. I was lucky enough to buy a few pieces from the collection.

As the month went on, we attended a funeral. Losing loved ones is something I’ve faced many times in my life, and it feels so natural to me now. This funeral offered me a new perspective. I’ve always wondered why I’ve encountered so much loss, but now I believe it’s for growth. Dying is just as natural as being born, even though it comes with a heavy stigma. I understand there are different circumstances and sadness surrounding loss, but I choose to believe that our loved ones are free from the constraints of time and space. While we can’t physically call or be with them, we can speak to them whenever we wish, and their legacy lives on through us. It might sound a bit strange, but this is how I choose to see it.

From death to life, we celebrated Wesley’s second birthday! His spirit is something special, and I pray that he’s able to keep shining bright for those in darkness.

This month, I aimed to be more present. After COVID, I stayed to myself and honestly became a hermit. But this December, I started going out more. I made it to a few basketball games. Some were awkward, but I'm thankful that true colors come out. It’s better to be hurt for a moment than to keep living a lie.

Mammy and I continued to have our lunch dates, and Baby even got to join us for a few.

I also had the joy of celebrating my dear friend Carrington. She’s such an amazing friend and I’m beyond grateful to have her in my life.

One of my favorite things about December is decorating! It’s always fun to see what I can create, and it brings so much joy to the house.

This month, I tried out a salt dough recipe and made some really cool ornaments. Some were reindeer, and others were snowmen.

Every year, we celebrate Christmas with my Granny, and I’m truly thankful for her and the legacy she’s creating for us.

As Christmas arrived, we celebrated, enjoyed good food, and opened presents. The most important part of the holiday is being around your loved ones.

To finish off the month, we headed to a cabin. Most of the family skied, but Mom, Dad, and I opted to skip out and just soak in the peace and quiet. The mountains were so relaxing and made for the perfect end to the year.

I’m grateful for everything this month held, and I can’t wait to share what the next year has in store!
